As the school year came to an end and Covid regulations slowly began to die down, Prem’s SS student council hosted our annual Prom. It was truly, a once in a life time experience.
I would like to thank everyone that has helped out with the event, with special thanks to our student council staff members, teacher chaperons, hotel staff and last but not least, the student body for the wonderful event! We couldn’t have done this without your support!
After the elections in February, we cracked on with the planning of Prom. Initially, it was supposed to be in June, however, due to the cancelled after-party for the graduating class of 2022, the school asked us to move it forward so that the grade 12s have a celebration to attend after their great achievement. Although this was a tight schedule for the grade 11 presidents, due to their mock exams, we were able to pull it off! I was head of the Decorations Committee and therefore was always there for the main job of the set up. The first month was filled with venue visits, communications with the hotel staff and initial planning of decor events. Next in April, I had a important emergency and therefore could not help with the planning to much. It was completely on me that I did not tell the team of my situation and informed them at the last minute, requiring someone else to step in. Then I finally settled down again in May and continued the work we began previously. We made the plan and bought everything.
