Backbend workshop

Warm up - split, arms, shoulders, back

  • Shoulder - stay in middle, rotate, move out

Split

  • Half monkey

  • Spine lengthening

  • Square

  • Spine straight

  • Thigh in back

  • Front out rotate


Chair tortoise pose

  • Butterfly - sit bone down, round back, stomach in

  • Shoulder below leg hand down onto ground

  • Interlock hands behind

  • Higher blocks or chair


King pigeon

  • Pigeon 

  • Block - lift up body

  • Arm behind head if look front, lift and over head if higher 

  • Hand - grab same leg thumb on sole of foot (strap)

  • Counter - pigeon down 


Wheel - easiest bridge back ending pose


Camel

  • Engage hips, push sternum up

  • Shift forward

  • Grab ankles

  • Look back

Bow 

  • Sphinx

  • Cobra

  • Up dog

  • Strap on foot flex pull closer (overhead)


Kaputasana

  • Wall - bend down reach walk

  • Floor bent legs  block up walk closer

  • Rabbit counter


Dizziness - breathe in pose for oxygen to entre into body
